On 6th September 2008 the first Musical Theatre weekly classes started in a small meeting room in Harrow on the Hill for children aged 6-12. Six children joined on the first day, and at the end of the first year twenty students performed a Gala showcase in the Travellers Studio Theatre at Harrow Arts Centre.

Over the past couple of years Sharpe Academy has continued to grow, producing several successful shows & holiday schools and has opened venues in Stanmore and Rotherham. In January 2010 Daniel Sharpe took over Footlights Youth Theatre, based in Stanmore, which had been running for eight years and incorporated it into the Academy.

Sharpe Academy currently has around 200 students on the registers, making it one of the largest part-time Musical Theatre schools in Greater London.
